I found these stunning portraits by Arizona artist Sandhi Schimmel Gold who makes her work with a very unique medium. These beautiful faces were put together in mosaic entirely out of daily junk mail deliveries. The results are just stunning.
She explains the concept behind her process: “My work reflects our society’s obsession with beauty through advertising – and the endless images that bombard us daily,” Gold says.”It is a purposeful intermix of images derived from advertising and thousands of incongruent pieces – images and text – from advertising that arrives through my mailbox. Assembled like a mosaic; the paper tiles create an entirely new image – an eclectic and tactile portrait reworked in my imagination, utilizing materials that would otherwise go to waste.”
I picked out some of the film star faces, but you can check out the rest of her work HERE.

This is a first attempt at a cinemagraph (first time ain’t easy). I’ll try to do more. After all, film should move.
